How did GameStop survive?

Back in October 8th, 2020 Microsoft shared an article that they partnered to keep going for multiyear strategically since they closed 500 stores across the U.S. causing it to nearly be gone forever. Since gamers are downloading games and don't care about psychical disc, What will be the point to go to GameStop? Honestly I haven't been to GameStop for a whole year I think it was 2016 or 2017 point is one time I walked in there in 2018 or 2019 I was amazed what change it has T-shirts and collectibles basically almost like a Hot Topic move. It seems like it worked for two years if I must say so myself. But now the question is how long can it stay and could there be a another gaming company like PlayStation or Nintendo help them or will Microsoft do another help in the future?

I'll see how things go in 2025 or even 2030 unless something happens before I'll keep writing articles if so.
